Sam Gayton - Writing
Sam is a young author and playwright whose books are aimed at 7-11 year old boys and girls.
About Sam
Sam has lived in lots of towns and places. Above a joke shop, in a basement with big and hungry spiders, in a house with a ghost (he called him Kevin). Right now, he lives by the sea in the town of Margate. He really likes reading books about tiny people. He likes tiny people so much that he has written a book about one.
Sam’s AIM High Writing Days
Who’s that figure striding out of the mist? Why have they come to the town on this cold winter’s night? What does the landlord’s daughter have to do with it all? And how is she possibly going to escape with her life?
Join Sam Gayton in creating a tension-filled, action-packed, character-led short story. But what sort of story? Fantasy? Thriller? Spy? Horror? It’s up to you!
During the day the children will go through the process of inspiring, drafting and crafting a fantastic piece of fiction. They will create an entire story from start to finish, focusing on the development of storylines and characterisation, then moving on to drafting and printing.
By the end of the day, if all goes well, they will have practised some incredibly useful skills that all storytellers use and may even have printed their very own short story to take home!
Sam predominantly works with children in KS2 and can tailor his days to fit your requirements.
