Special offers throughout October to celebrate Stephen Davies and The Ancient Egypt Sleepover
November marks the centenary of discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb and to celebrate we are offering a whole host of offers with wonderful author Stephen Davies and his book ‘The Ancient Egypt Sleepover.’
All About The Book: ‘The Ancient Egypt Sleepover’.
Stephen wrote this adventure story primarily with the needs of Key Stage 2 teachers in mind. It consists of twenty-one short chapters, perfect for reading together in class over the course of one month. The story contains no ancient curses or marauding mummies. Instead, there are hieroglyphic codes, nuggets of Ancient Egyptian trivia, and references to real artefacts in the British Museum, which your pupils can research for themselves. When writing this story, Stephen’s hope was that this book will provide you with a fun and useful resource as you study Ancient Egypt. Fun and educational with references to genuine Egyptian artefacts held at the British Museum, Stephen even taught himself to read hieroglyphs for this project.

Story opener young people need to complete: “My best friend and I took our sleeping bags out of our rucksacks and unrolled them at the feet of the goddess Bastet. Of all the statues in the Ancient Egypt room, this one was my favourite. It had a woman’s body, a cat’s head, and a crooked smile that seemed to say, “I know something you don’t know.”
The museum’s marble floor tiles were cold and hard, but I did not care about that. Our whole class had been looking forward to this Ancient Egypt sleepover for weeks, and we were buzzing with excitement.”
