Options for World Book Day 2021
With the country once again in lockdown with school’s closed, many of our customers have started to worry about the impact covid-19 restrictions will have on their World Book Day celebrations (Thursday 4th March 2021).
As always, Authors Abroad are here to help.
For schools with current bookings with us for World Book Week:
You can switch your visit to virtual or postpone totally free of charge
You can have a back up date booked in now so if March is disrupted then you already have a date reserved and you do not have to worry about reorganising at the last minute.
We know how much schools, libraries and all book lovers love World Book Day, and that many are frustrated that even if celebrations can go ahead during the first week of March, that they will not be able to be on the same scale as usual due to social distancing regulations and lack of planning time after such a disrupted year.
So Authors Abroad are running the Authors Abroad Book Week, where we will do all we can to help schools celebrate World Book Day on a later date, where they can all come together when restrictions have been lifted and events can take place as usual. We will be celebrating on Thursday 1st July and hope many schools will join us, and have something to look forward to after such a difficult time.
Authors Abroad Book Week Monday 28th June - Friday 2nd July 2021.
Of course you can have an author visit at any time of year, but we know schools like to celebrate at the same time as others and feel part of something bigger. So we have designated a week where we will be ramping up celebrations.
Any school, library or festival who has an event booked with us for this week will have £1 deducted from all the books we supply for their visit, to replicate the £1 World Book Day token scheme.
Authors Abroad will award a book bundle worth £100 to the school with the best book themed costumes during the week.
Offering certain books for the special price of £1 each for this week.
So get involved and have a huge book celebration to look forward to!
